i dip and spray my pens monthly        yes i have dirt floors         the last 2-3weeks i can not dip or spray enough to control the fleas    other than concrete floors or raising my pens off the ground                does anyone have a 4-sure cure that they use monthly or bi-weekly?

Diesel diluted for the dirt; don't use hay bedding, use cedar and or pine.

 I had them pretty ad for about 2 weeks so i gave them comfortis its a pill that last a month knocks them dead in 30 min. Last  little longer then a month.

you have to get on a program and keep at it i use permethrin to spray the dogs and kennels ect. then i come back after it's had time to soak in the ground and spray a product called martins I. G . regulator on the ground and houses [not the dogs ] the martins messes with the flea and ticks ability to mature to biting age [or egg laying ] thus you break the cycle of reproduction until you break the cycle you are doing nothing but killing adult fleas not the eggs or larva wich will hatch out EVERY DAY in a bad infestation . and then i will every 2 weeks spray a perimiter around the kennels with the combo of permitherin and martins mixed together and solved all my problems . this worked for me living in the middle of a cow pasture where i had a serious problem for a while . I don't know about the martin1 but you can buy enforcer in the gallon container and it is already premixed. I used it in the house and it will kill fleas for almost a year. I also used it on the dogs and kennels as well as where the dogs hang out. It disrupts the flea cycle and makes them steril. you can buy it at TSC.

Iv had nearly perfect luck with bayer tree and shrub for fleas.  Don't work on ticks but works wonders for fleas tin guard also works well for a broad spectrim insecticide

i think chickens will eat fleas, reason i say this is because i had some fleas and a bad yellow jacket nest somewhere behind my dog pen and i let the chickens out during the day and its not a bug over there now, i havent even seen a nat flying around over there, get you about 10 chickens and let them out at your dog pen

x2... all I use now except it is the ORTHO MAX tree and shrub. it is twice the strength for about 8 dollars more. I have concrete kennels so only need to treat every 3 months or so.

thanks reubin i didn't know about enforcer it has to have an i.g. regulator allready mixed in i'll have to check on it tomorrow and see if it's cost effective a small bottle of martins is about 15.00 and it last all summer and pemetherin ain't much i usually spen about 30 bucks all summer on spraying the pens and dipping dogs martins and permithrein are safe inside the house as well

The ortho max tree and shrub has the same ingredients as bayer advantage spot for dogs. I use it and it works good.

Comfortis works great but it is expensive if you have more than a few dogs. My solution which is the cheapest way I have found is to use granular 7 on the ground and spray liquid seven right after aplying the granular you also will need to use an IG regulator to stop the eggs from hatching this is a must. I also use bayer tree and shrub on the dogs. This only works for a few days but it gives the other posions time to start working. Do this once a week until the fleas are gone. I have 72 dogs and I do not have a flea problem at all so I know it works.
Total cost 40 dollars for all 3 posions at Home depot.

I did the comparison on the advantage and the Bayer tree and shrub and it would take about 30 cc's to get the same amount of the active ingredient that is in the advantage. The bayer was .73 percent active ingredient. The Ortho max tree and shrub is 1.47 percent active ingredient so it takes 15 cc's. This is for a dog 25-50 pounds give or take a few...I use 10-12 cc's of Ortho max on my dogs and it works fine for about 3 months but I have all my dogs on concrete.

They also have a pill out now that combines iverheart max (heartworm prevention) and comfortis (flea protection) all in one pill. Costs about $20 for the pill and last for 30 days.

I have had pretty good luck with mixing 1 gal. of bleach to 1 gal. of water and mixing 3.12oz of garlic powder. Between the bleach and garlic they can't stay. Hope this helps.

us poor folks use dawn dish soap bath them dogs regular you will get a head of em. make shure you tape worm them dogs too if you got fleas you got tapes..
