Title: Re: dry weather? Post by: Critter Catcher on August 28, 2011, 12:13:13 am THis is the first Summer I decided to hunt and this time of year it is night time only, my strike dog was doing the same thing for a long time but after several trips he has it down now and is hunting out finally. It was driving me crazy because like you I knew what this dog could do, he will hang around every once in a while but is doing a lot better then he was at the start of Summer. Just bring her out and she'll adjust, if not ship her my way..lol..hell It's almost time for a cool front, not far off..then you can hunt day and night.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Title: Re: dry weather? Post by: clinton on August 28, 2011, 01:18:54 pm I dont even hunt my dogs at night if its not under 80 just because when they do get on a pig that wants to work them a little its cool enough for the dogs to b at the full potential, any hotter than 80 is just 2 hot for me and the dogs hell u got to remember ur dogs are the ones out doing the labor not u so if it hot enough to make u sweat just walking then its just to hot to put your dogs threw it, the dogs will do the job in 200 degree weather but u have to ask ur self if ur going to b that selfish to let them do it.
