Lance it and some nasty stuff will come out of it and start draining..Squeeze it all out as good as you can and keep it open till it's drained good and starts healing from the inside out..

looks like an old cut infection or from a shot open it and give some antibiotics

Abcess only open it if you have the anitbiotics to treat it. If left alone it could get worse or better. Best to consult a vet for the proper medication.

How old is the dog?  I've had males, around puberty age , have something like that come up, hormone related, and vet whacked it off. If it's an abcess, shoukd feel soft and liquid filled. If its some type of tissue reaction, it will feel more thick, like thick swollen tissue. If u lance it and nothing comes out, u know its some kind of reactive issue there

it feels hard not liqufied im thinking of cutting it off it dont feel like it has roots

I HAD A DOG GET A BALL LIKE THAT IN HIS CHEST AND I GAVE HIM PENICILLIN SHOTS AND IT HEALED UP IN A FEW WEEKS IF ITS HARD I WOULDNT TRY OPENING IT.
