my friend just picked up a german shepherd and we was at the bay pen today and she acted interested in the hog and we took her out to check the trap and she was smelling like crazy and there is hogs everywhere out there so we figure thats what she was smelling but u never know do u think she could make a good hog dog?

Hogboys cousin had a real good German sheperd we gave him a real hard time about, but truth was Trinity could out strike most of the cur dogs, However IMO his flaw was he did not bay before trying to bite the hog and had tendency to make the hogs break and run. He would catch and hold some, but again IMO there would have been more hogs caught instaed of running had the dog bayed instead of biting, that is the difference in a breed designed to hunt & bay verses protection/herding work.

That is what you will get into try to use different breeds that arent meant to do certain types of work.
