Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: buddylee on September 26, 2011, 04:53:53 pm About any cross with bulldog or pit.
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: BRS on September 26, 2011, 05:03:55 pm Ya that's what I figured but I was just wondering
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: Florida Curdog on September 26, 2011, 05:24:54 pm I put some pit in my curs. Not just any pit. It has to trail, find & catch it's own hogs solo.

Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: make-em-squeel on September 26, 2011, 06:44:47 pm I have owned pure dogos and ab's, and seen game bred pits that could run with any dog! If I were crossing up I would go to a proven line of bird/bulls or dogo or AB/ridgebacks
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: make-em-squeel on September 26, 2011, 06:46:21 pm Look into how the Aussie 1 out style hunters breed thats all they use are 1 out striking - RCD's or Finder Holder dogs
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: Purebreedcolt on September 26, 2011, 07:25:29 pm My ideal rcd is hopefully will be 3/8 pit 3/8 ridgeback 2/8 something bmc aridale cat something along those lines
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: Reuben on September 26, 2011, 07:36:12 pm I envision a line of leggy pits that are laid back but will hunt if turned loose, cross that pit with a line of curs or hounds that have nose, gritt lots of hunt and good sense when it comes to finding a hog. No dog aggression in either line. Pick the best pups and breed them to a cur/hound from the same line. A quarter pit is all I would want if not less.
Title: Re: running cd crosses ? Post by: buddylee on September 26, 2011, 08:31:26 pm Too many possibilities out there. I personally like a bigger dog for a RCD. My next cross will hopefully be dane/pit over dogo. Plenty of leg, lung, and grit.
