They both came from john ketzer from hangerman nm. He is supposed to be a very well bred kemmer but papers dont mean chit to me. Hes got 2 choices either hunt or be culled. So far he has done well. He trails and winds good for a puppy.

Casey,
Leo Dollins started a line of plott dogs about 30 or so years ago that would hunt bear, they have cold noses gritty and intelligent he hunted and still hunts despite being in his 70's or 80's, in his prime he hunted all over the midwest and southwest. The gyp John has is old blood dollins on top and pure star mountain on bottom, I could not find star mountain any closer than the third generation until this gyp, she has if from the first generation on past the third generation. This cross should be freaking awesome when it hits the ground.
John,
Gets the best bloodlines of different breeds from all over the place. So those pups you have should be awesome dogs as they progress.
Stephen

Mike said you was fixing to do an old school breeding, I just got a young male back whose mother, old blue female I used to have, was full star mtn. Ive got a buddy that got several dogs directly from Dan murphy.
I don't think ive ever hunted with any of loes dogs.

I remember Dan Murphy having the Star Mtn Plotts...He advertised pretty big starting around 1973-1974 or so. Always wanted one of those dogs... ;D

arrowbar i hope than make the cut. I hate raising pups up to a year and a half and then culling them. There are going to have to have a ton of bottom to stop a hog around here. Open mouth dogs here have hell stopping these hogs but the goods one can do it, ive saw it.

I hope yalls plotts turn out as good as your hoping.,good luck

Hes still around, just keeping low profile. He went thru very nasty divorce.

Stephen, I don't recognize many but that kawliga dog was said to be a real dog.
My buddy knows more about those star mtn dogs than me tho, I always had the Crockett line, we made a few crosses between the two, with a pretty good turn out.
