Title: breathtaking action shots
Post by: T-Bob Parker on October 14, 2011, 03:19:12 pm
Been waiting on idiot customers today and had some time to screw around. I remember a long time ago there was a lady on here from the Austin area who eventually left the site for various reasons. She had a lacy dog named Sadie and a true gift with a camera. I didn't see eue to eye with her on politics but dad gummit I respected her eye to capture a picture. Fast forward to now and my wife has a cool camera and has started practicing various photo types, and it has once again peaked my interest in action photography

Please don't clutter or waste bandwidth on pics that only you would personally enjoy, and keep it tasteful, but I would like to invite you shutterbugs to take advantage of this thread to show off your skills as they relate to working dogs.

Julie may still lurk on ETHD, but she moved to California and now works for Yahoo.  She had a knack for taking action shots.

Here are some of my favorite pics from Mandi's good camera. Not all action shots.

I can't never get any good action shots with the camera i have. Any suggestions for a descent camera that wont break the bank? As for the dogs , I have to take lots of pics to get 1 good one. My camera is just not fast enough.(http://)(http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z349/eelcat1/YoungerTuff.jpg)(http://)(http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z349/eelcat1/Abby023.jpg)

I clicked " post " too fast. Wasn't finish message. The pic of the solid color Catahoula was taken by a friend of mine but it is one of my favorite action shots. The leopard with the coon I took. Took at least 40 pics and that was the only descent one. I sure miss that modify
button.

I don't 'think' I have posted any of these here before since they weren't in my photobucket account, but if I have I do appologize for repeats! ;D I had to crop them down so the  'sharpness' has somewhat disappeared.

Thats sure a fine looking up shot of your fiest or terrier, any idea what bloodline, what kind of squirrel was he treeing there or was it a big ol fat coon in nest??  I am so ashamed when i see the size of that tree as well, we bulldozed so many down like that down here on the bottoms it was a sin, was this in texas or where if you dont mind, do you still have that dog and hunt squirels??? Have you ever hunted him on climbing game at night or on hogs once in a while??  I have about 20 that i load up in my old wolf dog box and drive around the 30 deer feeders after the hunters leave in Feb, I dump them only after i shoot into the hogs with some mini 14 rounds and make sure i hit 2 or 3 real good since i am so crippled down now days especially i am alone down there, I also live to catch coons hanging around the feeders a night robbing that high dollar corn and dump them on em as well, like a chinese firedrill with all them lumberjack matching back and forth, them coons pretty stout from eating corn omg weigh more than the lil fiests but when one gets its mouth around the coons neck its heave ho!!!  Thanks for posting all of these pictures guys!!!!

Man those are all great shots, thanks. I took my wifes camera with me yesterday but as per my normal ADHD self, I left that joker in my pocket during the cool segments of the training sessions. I'm really inspired by yalls handy work and think I'm gonna have to try to remember it.

No telling on the bloodline. I bought him as a pup from an old man that said his parents were good squirrel dogs and he would be too. I use him for everything from coons, squirrels, hogs, and elephants... I hunt with him all the time. He's 6 years old now. I don't think there's anymore where he came from but I'm more than willing to let him father some pups (he's more than willing also). That picture was taken in the Sabine River Bottom in Texas. Anybody that ever wants to go on a good squirrel hunt, he's more than willing to travel.

It was. It belonged to my buddy. It didn't stay around long. It stayed under our feet the whole time and showed very little interest in a hog. I saw it go up to a huge group of hogs several times and bark once and come walking back. This is one of the only hogs it bayed and it didn't do that long. The other dog in the picture is a whole different story though. He's the father of my oldest dog and was a hog hunting machine. He was stolen several years ago.
