Title: Prayer request
Post by: TinyTexasCowgirl on October 15, 2011, 02:16:07 pm
Hey y'all. I am gonna ask for some prayers for guidance and strength.

Had a one of the top equine chiropractors in the county ask me to apprentice with him, and probably take over his practice in 2-5 years. I'm gonna try it from now until December and see how it goes, and decide for sure in December.

My worries are I have a LOT going on here at home and I don't know how to do it all.

Most of you know I manage a 4H group, and doing this apprenticeship is going to make it next to impossible for me to manage the meetings. I don't want to let the kids down, but at the same time, I need to be able to help support my own family.

My horses and dogs. My aunt is taking care of my horses, care wise, but my new filly will be ready to break in the spring, and if I'm gone then who is gonna do it?

Maurice. He is already gone so much, and this apprentice would take me out of the sate for weeks/months at a time. He would either have to meet me wherever I am, or I would have to come home, which would make it hard on the job....

Family. My grandma is sick, and I'm worried Will get called home while I am gone. Maurice and I are trying to start a family, and this would make it even harder for reasons that I have been asked not to discuss yet.

I just am not sure what the right path is right now.

Everyone needs to help me convince her to do this. When one of the best horse chiropractors in the entire country want you to be their apprentice you can't turn them down.  Means being on the road for weeks or months at a time hitting every horse show from California, Texas, to New York and everywhere in between. Learn from him for several years and be able to take over most of his established clients.

She is scared how this will affect everyone else instead of doing for herself for a change.

I love you Babe.

Maurice

Will for sure say a prayer for you. I say go for it girl, you already got hubby support, and that means a lot. Don't end up like me regretting not doing something you love, sounds like a once in a lifetime offer. At least give it a shot, you never know where it might lead you.
GOD works in mysterious ways.   ;)

Tiny, It sounds like your talking yourself out of it before you get started. It also sounds like you have your husbands blessing. If you see
this as an opportunity and it is something that will pay off big in the long run for you and your family than you need to try it. You don't
want to look back later and regret not trying it out. Opportunities don't come along often. They will find somebody for your 4-H group.
If you have to get called home for your grand ma then you come home if you get the call. I spent my whole life talking myself out of
opportunities because I was afraid of the unknown. Now at 50 years old I look back with a lot of regrets. Dig deep inside and do what you think is right for you and your family. Good luck with your decision .

Don't do it girl! A woman place is on the home!!

Just playing, have at it, sounds like a pretty good gig. But don't do anything halfcocked, if you do it, do it your best.

Besides, your hubby is telling you to go for it, you just promised to love, honor and OBEY right? ;D

Kinda in the same boat took a step up and the last guy got fired but if you don't take a risk you won't ever move ahead in this world.  Think dj said it best in listen to your heart.  While it is nice to move ahead if your not happy doing it it is not worth it.  Sorry I'm saying two things at once but this is your decision and something that sounds great but only if it is something you want to do.

So, you decided to go? Good for you. Now go give it all you got. If you don't like it come home. But you can always look back and say you tried it .  Good Luck and keep us posted.

Tiny I will keep you in prayers.  Good luck and I think you are lucky and blessed to have a supportive hubby and a chiropractor that see something special in you.  Out of curiousity does he do accupunture too?

Thought I would check in with y'all. Things are going great!!! Am really enjoying not only the job but also being back in the big time horse industry, rubbing shoulders with mccutcheon and mcquay. Hadn't realized go much I missed it.

Yes, we do accupuncture as well as the chiropractic and massage on equine and human.

Well, I guess the saying "sometimes unanswered prayers are god's greatest gifts" I'm back home, for good. Quit that guy today, packed my trailer and came home. He is a good hand with a horse, but his personality is more than lacking and I'm not gonna be treated like someone's b*tch that I ain't married to, or getting paid by. Worked two weeks, spent little over $1000 in expenses and didn't get paid a dime. Guess lesson learned.
Thank you guys for all the thoughts and prayers anyway. I'm truly blessed to call y'all friends and to have such an amazing husband!

Good for you, at least it only cost you 2 weeks and $1,000.
Better than later with more lost. Many will say "sorry".
Not me, GOOD for you, better to try it and know for sure than have doubts about not doing it later.
