EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Not much a story, they have FINALLY started burning / harvesting....they had cut some plant cane weekend before last and we caught this little sow but couldn't turn her loose cause the farm manager was watching  :'(  pretty little thing...seeing much more color than what we thought was to be had out there! and I must add our little boy went in the block of cane with his daddy to leg her but promptly turned loose when she tried to bite him  >:D he is finally starting to like it.....

Playing in the wet fields...it was crazy wet so he was playing where the farm manager was draining the water.

And then this past weekend, my husband took Nitro to a small 80 acre place that has some well fed hogs on it and caught one small hog and a good grain fed boar hog.  We loaded up on Sunday because Saturday was a lazy day to find that they were harvesting!  They had just started so we rode to the back to let them cut a few fields where Tana went on a 3 hour adventure in a grove  >:(

Once we finally got her back we started cruising the open fields, put the dogs in some burnt cane and ended up with three courtesey of Chance (he is REALLY starting to turn it on) but no pics then we headed over to the cut fields and dumped a friends dogs in a head waiting for them to scatter like roaches :D.

Three GOOD hogs come out and started for the harvesters so we cut out after them and only missed them by a taill length with the blue beast but we wound up catching a good boar hog a sow and a shoat right after that back to back....one of the other guys that works there came up as we were leaving and he was heart broke to see us lol I told him he should know better than to think we won't be there ;D

good pics as usual. you guys hunt that stuff while its burning?

If it isn't up by the roads we will sit a field or two over and wait for stuff to slip out but you would be surprised at the number that will squat in the ditches but as the harvesters narrow in they start to buck out to the next block or the closest head....its the best time of the year but it is also when everyone else that won't hunt the tall stuff shows up with a box full of bull dogs to your bays!

We are going to catch the big ones slipping accross the open fields after they are done and everything calms down in this full moon...I was bummed it was a Sunday!  :D
