Title: Happy Thanksgiving from Cutter Bay Kennels Post by: Cutter Bay Kennels on November 24, 2011, 02:26:27 pm Took the girls out this morning before I was to get ready to go visit family. They were able to get this nice boar bayed. Beulah is the blue-collared dog. She has 9 week old pups. Not too bad to help suck her back up. We caught 4 two Fridays ago. The girls are doing well. Happy Thanksgiving!!

On most hogs, I don't need a catchdog. They will dive on if I tell them to. I can always call them off if need be. I do own a nice cur dig as well that is always willing to help. Title: Re: Happy Thanksgiving from Cutter Bay Kennels Post by: Cutter Bay Kennels on November 25, 2011, 06:20:47 pm Went again today. I turned out on a mess if tracks going domwn the crushed concrete road. Dogs bawled down it for about 200 yards. Then, they crossed over. After about 300 yards in, Beulah split. I elected to keep up with her. I heard other hunters shooting, so I went to pick her up. I looked at the Garmin to see Ramsey bayed. It took us about 12 minutes to get back over towards her. Once I got within 350 yards, I could hear the hog was caught. We drove a woodsroad right to them. Pistol and Ramsey had a great eating hog stretched. As soon as I got the hog, they relayed. About 19 minutes went by, and we heard gunshots. One of the deer hunters bagged a spotted sow in front of my hounds. I knew him, and he is a nice gentlemen. He offered the hog, but I declined. One was enough for me to skin today.

Looks like you are on a roll, some good eating there. Enjoyed hunting with you and Steve a couple of weeks ago. We made some good sausage out of our sows. |
