I've had them about a year and just now tried them but they worked good. Only thing about hobbles is having to tie a hog on its back so it won't stand up. I'm still trying to make a trip South so Caughtandhobbled can teach me about piggin string.

Title: Re: Hog Hobbles Post by: JBurns on December 15, 2011, 02:47:53 pm I use the snap hobbles, I didn't like the "big boar" hobbles because on a big boar fightin and kicking good luck getting him hobbled with out being able to seperate the hobbles since they are on the ring. The snap hobbles or any regular hobbles work better cause you can snap individually or at least do just 2 legs at a time.

In the meant time I am holding a good size hog while you got lost between us and the truck. When the truck was only 600 yards away.... Jack A**! But yeah Jared there wild boar USA, bout all I'll use cause the functionality is great. Just as soon as you get dirt in the snaps they get stiff though! 1. keep the meat fresher. 2. want to butcher it at a later date 3. sell to a hog buyer/ station that sells wild boar meat 4. feed out until ready to process- 5. USDA processor will not accept HOGS dead have to be brought in live on the hoof. 6. adds a degree of difficulty and art to have the ability to work your dogs to do so, Anybody can use a pack of sogs that can grab and hold hogs, not everybody can use a team of dogs that are trained, obedient and work well enough to make a hog stop hold and bay with out chewing it up and leaving marks all over it. Or asked to let it go and and go find another as soon as you grab the hog its team work and like a fine art |
