Title: First hog of the new year

We made a hunt on the 2nd and started out hunting some standing corn and milo where some hogs have been feeding at night but we did not find any there.  They must be traveling a good distance to feed and are bedding on some property that we cant hunt during deer season.  We hunted all around the field and did'nt find anything.  We Finally loaded up about 11 and went to a different place that was down river a few miles.  Unloaded there and started toward the river and the dogs lit out and stayed gone.  The wind was pretty high so hearing was bad but we finnally got close enough to hear them bayed on this boar.  Had to quit and go feed cows after we got the hog out of the woods.

Sean, unless you have a daughter we may have to revoke your man card for that statement.
first: knowing what a tiara is.
Second: using said knowledge on a public forum. ;D ;D

I did'nt get a weight on the hog but guessed him around 250.  He was tall though and had lots of hiar, definately looked big enough when he made the mistake of chasing that gyp out of the grape vines he was in.  The longest tooth was close to three inches and the other was a little shorter.  We have been getting a lot of boars with bigger teeth than usual lately.  I'm thinking some of these big toothy boars we have been getting escaped from a game ranch down stream when the river got up into their fence.

They do eat well. Lots of pecans, and crops on the west side of the river and lots of acorns on the East side during the winter.  That and they rob allot from deer and cattle feeders.
