Title: a bad hunt
Post by: redneck8284 on December 24, 2011, 01:23:11 am
I went on a hunt last Saturday with my two young started dogs they where the sons of my best gyp that got killed by a big boar three months ago. We hunted about an hour when my buddies dogs found a good group of hogs. They pushed the hogs across the highway and finally bayed up a mile away and we caught a young sow had a few more bayings going on but by the time we got to them they had broke. Well we got the dogs together to head back to the truck and i could only find one dog. So we headed back to the truck thinking he might be across the highway that we had crossed but when we got to truck he wasn't there i called for him for an hour and no sign of him ,he always came in when i called for him so i started thinking to myself somethings wrong. We loaded up and drove around looking for him and found him he didn't make back across the highway he had been by a car or truck man that was the worst feeling i ever had he was a year and a half old and would bay out of the truck. I went on a hunt the other night and it just wasn't the same even his brother isn't the same with out him.

I know the feeling
I had my main gyp moon litter mate.
Boomer
Together they was great if he'd be here now they be unstopable.

I was hunting in thortan and lost my Moon dog
Next day went back and turned dogs out thinkin
If they bay one maybe shell be there
Well at the end of hunt I came up to truck she was loaded up laying down but
Now her brother Boomer was missing. About 10min before I heard a train honk
I had a bad gut feeling
I went back a week straight looking
Asking neibors
But finally my buddy yelled that he found him
He got stuck on a bridge and the train got him before he made it off

It was horrible sight but I got his cut collar off and now it's
A memory piece I never use
