Title: why am I surprised?
Post by: reatj81 on January 06, 2012, 12:09:56 am
just read another post of a dog wanted,  just one week ago the same person posted selling out.  Is this the pay people get rid of their culls, or is this how fast they change their mind?  Can they achive the dogs they wont this way, or do they even know what they wont?  I dont understand!

Some people don't know what a cull is... Some don't have s clue how dumb they sound or look. Some don't care they are just trying to get ahead. Most are young guys that shouldn't have dogs anyway because they can't take care of them...

I have only been a memeber of this board since November 2011 but I see people selling out due to a family illness or other various reasons and in the same paragraph near the end---looking for a finished RCD ?
A day or 2 later wanting to trade dogs for something that does not eat ?  But dont call me ? text only because I dont have time to BS and dont text if your not a serious buyer.
Culling a dog does not mean selling it to someone else. If you try to sell your trash dogs, that were never meant to be hog dogs in the first place, on this or any message board, it eventually hinders the people who truly do have a hog dog posted for sale.
Hog hunting is not a seasonal sport its a commitment. If you want to hunt hogs 3 weeks out of the year? best way is ask a hog hunter if you can go along and help.
Thats my 2 cents worth.

I've had the same dog offered to me by 3different people over a 2month period each time saying it did something different that would fit my 3dog pack better then what I had. Went from rough strike to straight rcd in a month and a half. I asked if we could hunt the dog. Two said an hr was to far to hunt and the other said he doesn't do trials....I wanted to hunt the dog not try it. We were discussing a trade as I can't have more then 3 and I thought he would want to see mine hunt as well. All he kept saying he LOOKS good. Made me laugh, Hell if looks found and caught hogs I've wasted some 22ammo on some Damn good dogs. Glass eyes mean they find hogs right? ;D

I sold out a while back. Thought I was going to quit....couple months later I couldn't take it! Thanks to the folks on here I was back in business in no time. I was given some dogs that I'm still using, bought a few culls....and eventually bought back the digs I sold....my point is people change their mind, and sometimes their heart is in the right place...sometimes it ain't!

If anyone buys a cull... it's their own damn fault. ;)

The dogs referred to in this post are young dogs... that probably have more hunt and bottom than most folks grown dogs. :o

Try before you buy my friends... try before you buy. Or at least have a little inside information on the dog.

if your talking about me please give me a pm asking me why and not try to give somebody a bad name over the whole board. yes i sold out and i kept a very good bred pit/cur pup that i could have around the house and i could be able to take her hunting with my friends. now i am wanting a catch dog to catch with her and show her the ropes. those dogs i sold were FAR FROM CULLS they have some of the best bloodlines that Texas could offer in my opinion. and i sold them back to theyre original owner and breeder and they are doing great. im not looking to get back into hunting just have a dog around the house to take with friends and not feel left out because i like the sport and i like the dogs.

Why dont you just run your pup with your friends CD??

That should give you what your wanting without having to keep the extra dog around the house...  ;)

thats what i have thought about doing, but buds are always busy and it would be easier for me just to have one there and be able to work it whenever i want

It could have been me they were talking about Logan, I had to cut down to 3and a pup due to my dad having cancer and one of the 3 isn't the full out rcd I think I need. That being said, I can honestly say there are no dogs out there that I've sold that didn't do what I said. If someone knows one, please speak up. I will not take it in a bad way... people are entitled to their opinions. I dont pay to much attention to it.
it sounds like you had some good dogs and good ppl speaking highly of them so sleep easy my friend

THERE ARE DOG PEDDLERS ON HERE AS WELL, MIKE SAID IT BEST, TRY BEFORE YOU BUY

I want to know how many people buy a used car and never test drove it first before they bought it? Youre a dam fool if you throw 1000$ to 2000$  in somebody's hands that you dont know or didnt put in the time to do a little checking on them. I have read these boards for years now and once a month you hear about somebody getting burned. You burn yourself. Do your homework first, after you get the dog the chances you will get your money back are very slim.!!!

I myself I don't have a problem in the world with a man that is selling dogs if he is selling good dogs and is straight forward about what they are and what they ain't.  He can sell every day of the week thats all good.

I still don't have a problem but it pisses me off cause I know what is going on

When Mr. Huggies comes on here are any other boards and he is looking for a catch dog are strike dog and then a week later he has a all out great catch dog for sale and then a few days later he has a complete finished Lighthing Rod Jam Up 10 mile never quit find dog for sale and then two weeks later he is back looking for and has to have a finished find dog are catch dog before this are that date in dier need.

Its kinda funny to tell you the truth !  Try it out before you buy it go hunt with the man then if you buy it good are bad are something happens its on you not the man you bought it from .  I once had a policy when you drive out that gate with the dog its yours !
