I got a very bad cavity.  I need it pulled but all closed till Monday.
Does anyone know anythin to reduce swelling and pain???
It's swolen bad and hurts very bad

If its swollen you probably need antibiotics before a dr. Will pull it anyways. I've been there it sucks ! I wouldn't try an take it out unless your sure you can get the whole thing, if it breaks off you'll really feel some pain !

Wife works for a dentist. She said get some antibiotics as soon as you can. She said if your dentist won't call it in, go to the ER and get some prescribed for you. She also recommended an Emergency care center such as SOLANTIC or similar company. She also said if it is a lower jaw tooth, you don't want the infection going into your neck. That is bad news. Get some ANTIBIOTICS ASAP!

You can get some of those medicated swabs that look like earbuds in your toothpaste section at the store,u snap them and the medicine runs to one end thenu rub it all over the sore area and it will numb it in about 5 minutes,if its as bad as you say you will have to use one about every 1/2 hour or so,sounds like it is infected if there is swelling though,if any of your family members have some antibiotics like amoxicilan capsules you might want to start in on them,nothin worse than a toothache,especially over the weekend.

just like everyone one is saying. The dentist will not work on your tooth if you have an infection. The first thing he will do is give antibiotics...and when the swelling/infection is under control he will then pull it or root canal it depending on what the options are and what you are willing to pay.

like already said by others...use antibiotics even from other folks prescriptions that were not used up.

I keep a large bottle of amoxillen around for the dogs or family...I had a friend pick a bottle up for me in mexico...

for right now get an aspirin and crush it into powder and rub it around the tooth...this will kill the pain...My wife used a liquid gel aleve and it worked real well...

The aspirin trick was given to me by an old timer back when I was a young man and it helps until you can see a dentist. stay away from sweets because it seems to me that the sugar aggrevates the pain...

a tooth ache can be unbearable at times...hope you get some relief soon...

I started taking clindamycin 300mg since yesterday morning
But the swelling is just getting worse
Now my eye is about the swell shut.
I call dentist they said it take 48hr to work.,

If its swelling to your eye,you have a pretty nasty abcess going on,you run the risk of getting very sick so u might want to go to the e.r where they can prescribe u something fast and effective,u need something stronger if its swelling that bad,hope you get to feeling better soon bud.
