Got a BMC named Okefenokee Cowboy of Rathke's Reno and TLS Delight that will be 12 in April.  Still goin!  His mind wants to go harder but his body is showing that age.  Went 1 mile behind one Sat. after being cooped up during deer season and he wore his self out!

I've got an old, one eyed, worn out dog at the house that we still haul every now and then. He will be 13 in July.
He still finds a hog! My son hunted him in the middle of summer several times this past year. On the last hunt he found a man hog that about did him in but he survived it. He was laid up for being stiff and sore for days.
I don't know how he does it but i will keep hunting him every now and then as long as he is willing to go.

For the record, I don't think he is an exception either. Just a product of good breeding.

Some dogs have longevity bred into them.  My Dad had a dog we hunted untill he was 15, almost made it to 17.  Just died this past fall.  My Paris gyp just turned 9 years old.  She has slowed a bit, but finds and bays more hogs than she ever has.  AND still faster than most short legged dogs. hehe

My buddy Cletis had a Plott that we hunted until he was over 14 and he was strong right up to the last.
