Title: Two good hogs 2-04-12 Post by: BugBuster on February 05, 2012, 07:36:20 pm Had a good hunt Saturday, what we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality. First hog was 225-250lbs blonde boar hog with +3 inch cutters. One bay dog got a small nick but for the most part it went extremely well. Both catch dogs including the young pit had an ear a piece. Second hog was another boar of equal size with cutters in the 2.5 inch range. What made him special was the fact that three young dogs found and bayed him by themselves without any help. Hog was in the wide open and smoked both bulldogs on the initial hit that you can see in the video. However when he broke they caught him within about 30 yards and it was over. The young bulldog, chocolate pit took a good poke in his jaw but should be fine in a week or two. This hog cut the ugly dog guardian kevlar vest in three places through the first layer on the neck and chin flap and a complete poke through in one of the arm flaps. Thanks to ugly dog for a good vest otherwise the 13 month old pit would have not have been lucky at all.
