I would go with the 5/4 decking. Same as what you see on porches and decks. Will be a lot cheaper on you

I used 1x6 corral boards. They run between $2-3 each at LOWES and McCoys. Depending on where you go. I will take and post pics of mine when I can.

Will the one by six boards hold an 80 pound dog? I would appreciate the pics, and already appreciate the input. Need Ideas.

Yes they hold my DOGOS. I have mine 16 inches or so off the ground. The one I built at my folks place is 5' or so off the ground. It is my puppy kennel.

Each kennel is 5' x 8'. Easy to clean and let them run loose while doing it LOL.

My kennels are 5'x10' and not sure exactly off the top of my head, but I think it's probably about 2' from the ground to the top of the kennel floor.

IF YOU KNOW ANYBODY THAT WORKS ON A DRILLING RIG, BRANDT KING KOBRA SHAKER SCREENS MAKE AN EXCELLENT FLOOR. THEIR EASY TO CLEAN AND WATER AND URINE RUNS RIGHT THROUGH THEM. BEST OF ALL YOU CAN GET THEM FOR FREE. I ALSO HAD THAT SET OF KENNELS BUILT ON CHANNEL IRON RUNNERS. IF I WANTED TO MOVE THEM I JUST HOOKED ONTO THEM WITH THE TRACTOR AND PULLED.

I was wondering what you guys think of a wooden box/house with an expandled metal (.25 inch holes or less) flooring for the rest of the kennel. So its an all wood box (walls, roof and floor) plus the play area or expanded metal.

I don't know anyone with expanded metal kennel floors, but I've had dogs rip toe nails off riding on expanded metal atv racks.
