Title: Very heavy heart Post by: Cutter Bay Kennels on February 18, 2012, 07:58:56 pm My partner Pistol did not make it home from our hunt today. He met a boar that was not in the mood. I will miss Pistol both around the house and in the timber. We shared some great times. Never gets easier to swallow when you loose one. He was not a Bluetick, but he filled a position in my pack, and filed it well. Farewell boy! You will be missed. :'(

No trashing, just straight business on the swine. It hurts now, but in time will fade. As Del Cameron stated in his "Call of the Hounds" book, "Such was the destiny of this hound.". Very sad, but very true. Pistol gave his all, and his time came too soon. Loved you boy.

I found a chick that had hatched but died. Emily asked me what it was when I reached down to pick it up. I told her it was a chick, but he was dead. She looked up at me. She said "dead like Pistol?". I said yes. Then she said, " I miss him". Tough pill to swallow right there. She still calls his kennel stall "Pistol's pen". I love that girl. I aim to find Emily a nice pup soon. I've got my eyes on the prowl.
