Title: Sand Burrs Post by: KevinN on February 20, 2012, 08:39:15 pm Anyone ever had sand burrs bust up a chase? Just thinking about an old hunt, three years ago or so. We're all young dogs. We actually saw the Boar on a sand bar right before my 2 year old gyp struck him. She hit his trail, bout 10 seconds later she opened up for maybe 6/8 seconds, and that was it. We got to the first bay spot just on the far river bank within about 2 minutes and crossed a mesquite scrub pasture that was about 100 yards. At the far side of the pasture i found her standing by a fence. I called to her but she just stood there. When I got to her I checked her out and she had burrs in all her pads. Though she was relatively young and inexperienced, she had been on a few hogs and didn't show any quit. I had to assume it was the burrs, she just wouldn't move until I got them out. I spent quite a few nights laying in bed hoping that's what it was anyway.
