I have contacted Irish wolfhound breeders, and they all act like you just asked to date their daughter,when told that you want a female to breed to my pitbull to produce hunting dogs. They are all snobs that think that they should all be couch patatos and show dogs. It's ashame that a breed that was bred to hunt wolves and elk are being ruined by show dog fools!. Anyway, is there anyone out there that breeds Deerhounds-Staghounds, or Deerhound/Wolfhound crosses, that would sell to a hunter?. I know Staghounds wouldn't be a problem, If I knew how to contact them!,but I would prefer a Deerhound,or deerhound/Irish wolfhound cross if possible. I am also looking for the best Plotts that are available I allready know what the best BMC lines are. Can anyone answer my question? or is making fun of others for their opinions, all you know how to do?.
I have never owned a BMC, but have researced them alot on the internet, I know good dogs are where you find them, no matter what breed your talking about!. Anyway, I think I have made up my mind on which breeds to get do to the type of hunting that I will be doing. I will be getting Pocahontas Plotts,
and pure bred Scottish deerhounds to cross with my Pitbulls. In my opinion, to many are trying to get the do it all dog, what you end up with is a dog that cant do anything as well as the specialized breeds!.

There should be alot of reading material on the board on certain lines of BMCs. Some from promoted breeders and lines. Do a quick search should have enough info to keep u busy for a day or two. I will pm you some names of smaller breeders so you can talk to them and form your own opinion. Some great lines out there.  One of the best quotes on here somewhere is "listen with your eyes and not your ears". Good luck

As far as deerhounds and wolfhounds go i dont have a clue ??? silverton boars  on here has been messing with stags and speaks highly of them. what part of the country are ya from?

If you have a good female that you'd like bred, I know of a good male stag (deerhound/greyhound) that you could probably breed to here in GA. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

I believe you are on the right track if you are looking for RCD. Trying to breed to Scottish Deerhounds or Irish Wolfhounds is a real crapshoot as you are dealing with breeds that have not been hunted for many generations. [Kinda like trying to make a performance pit dog out of an Am Staff.] The staghounds have been used by quite a few hog and coyote hunters so there has been culling and improving of the breed. I have been in the bulldogs for over 30 years and have been catching hogs the last few with my Jeep/Rascal/Redboy dogs. Just gotta be careful to have a good handle on them and point that drive at a pig.

Boondock and Buddy Lee, I know of two stag males in GA. One down near FL and one in Conyers. PM me if you'd like to know more. I know the dogs well and know the breeding and exactly where they came from. I sold both of these dogs to these guys from a friend of mine in Missouri.

Get on Vargys coyote board. You can surely fund a stag there.

Peachcreek I wonder if my ugliest dog in the world would work for him. lol
