Title: Fishing spots
Post by: dub on March 09, 2012, 12:55:11 pm
My boy wants to go fishing during spring break. I am trying to find a place I can fish from shore. Preferably put up a tent so the boy can sleep. I know some people don't want their spots known to the public. So PM me if that is the case. I was thinking about a bay or something. But it has to be a place my kid can get to and fish so it is fun.

Oklahoma is a bit of a drive to fish but thanks. I may just go after catfish first then head to the bay and just wing it.

I have some relatives in Bay City, and we would go fish in Matagorda Bay. They had a long pier there, and we would just fish off the pier using live shrimp as bait. We would catch a bunch of fish. Mostly little catfish lookin things, but caught a wide variety of other fish as well. We also caught a bunch of crap using drop nets with chicken legs as bait.

I havent been down there in 10yrs or so, so I have no idea what it is like now, but I know I had a lot of fun back then.

The San Louis Pass pier is where I would like to go but it got taken out in the hurricane and has not been rebuilt last time I checked.
