i just got a pup its only a few weeks old

I won't dock a tail past a few days old myself.

You can use a rubber band (elastrator) like they use on calves and sheep and goats. It does a good job. Leave it on for about a week and then cut the tail off with some pruning shears. Works real slick.  You can use this technique on any age dog. Wouldnt hurt to give the dog a tetanus shot when you put the band on just to be safe.

thats right about the bubber bands  i even casterate grown males with the bands   IT WORKS
