Title: Re: how late can you dock a dogs tail Post by: george on April 09, 2009, 03:24:28 pm You can use a rubber band (elastrator) like they use on calves and sheep and goats. It does a good job. Leave it on for about a week and then cut the tail off with some pruning shears. Works real slick. You can use this technique on any age dog. Wouldnt hurt to give the dog a tetanus shot when you put the band on just to be safe.
