Title: Some little mule footed pigs I am raising Post by: Skrag on April 02, 2012, 10:13:53 pm Picked up some little pigs to raise. Got a black and white sow and boar that look identical and are mule footed. Going to cross the boar to a sow and see what they throw and put a bluebutt boar over the sow and see what happens. hope to get some good looking mule footed pigs to catch. ;) I have no idea how the genetics works with mule footed pigs or coloring my guess it is a total crap shoot when dealing with wild pigs Lol. Will maybe get some data with this that will tell me if the mule footed pigs are from a recessive or dominant gene. Is the mule foot even caused by a gene??

Title: Re: Some little mule footed pigs I am raising Post by: cajunl on April 03, 2012, 09:03:38 am I had 5 I kept in a pen all Mule footed. 2 boars and 3 sows. Every litter I ever had always had all mule footed but one in every litter. They were all black so the color did not play into it.
I turned 100 or so loose over 10 years in the same spot, And have never caught one mulefooted one again in the wild. They are interesting to mess with. |
