Title: Sealer
Post by: Whistler on April 27, 2012, 02:05:12 pm
Im in the process of building a kennel and the floor is 2 by 6 deck boards.  Was wondering what kind and how often do i need to seal it to protect from urine and getting sprayed with water twice a day.  Also with what and how often do in need to spray to kill any germs and diseases.

Thanks

Probly Thompson's water sealer to seal it and bleach to disinfect it

Be sure u have good drainage underneath the deck. All the urine and wash down water will go under the deck and stink u out.

If I used treated deck boards would I still need to lay down a sealer?

I wonder if diesel would work...I bet it would keep the flies, ticks and fleas down...not to mention that it is a lot cheaper than thompsons sealer...does anyone use diesel???
