That's exactly what I figured you'd say. Why are you even on a hog hunting website?

Folks, this guy is undoubtedly a PETA activist.

Nothing to do with PETA, just a man that stands for human rights and support fair treatment for everyone, not just the rich.

Wow in that case I would feed a crap load of dogs matter a fact I might be around a 100 by now if they all got to stay here. But I only keep the best the ones that work. A dead beat is a dead beat no matter how you look at it. A man who is intelligent enough to go out and do well for his self should not have to share his hard earned money with a bum are a dope head. If he puts a lot of work and money to build his empire the man that he hires to work for him should not make no where near what he makes.
Right now we are working real hard in the US on being a 3rd world country. We don't need this kinda crap in the US.

Ok, let me ask you a question. The fact that Verizon made 12 billion dollars last year and somehow was in the 8% tax bracket does not bother you? The fact that Apple was last year in the 13% tax bracket does not bother you? You don't want to ask yourself why aren't they in the 30% + tax bracket? Also, there are so many other hundreds of corporations that are doing the same thing!!! Imagine how this country would strive if the remaining 25% tax they are suppose to pay would be invested here!! Instead, if someone makes about $25,000.00, they HAVE TO PAY 30%, and if not, well they go to jail. Not fair!

Life's not fair. Shoulda had that figured out by the time you had to take showers at school, but then again I don't reckon an intellectual do goodun occupooper like yourself was much of an athlete.

Ok the union guys of gm got there fair share all these years with no money saved by tm cause they paid there share to the employees and they had to get there butts bailed out by the government. Every union job I ever had laid off. The companies that banked money for a rainy day did not lay off. They struggled until things got back right with the economic s .then started banking money again.

Glad you at least admit that life is not fair, which means you understand that when a company makes 12 billion dollars per year, they should not be under the 10% tax bracket. And I am not being selfish here, all I am saying is that the remaining tax they SHOULD pay would be of great help to the entire system. This is what needs to change!

P.S. About athletism, I have 20 years of martial arts experience and I am still practicing weekly.  ;)

All I am saying its there money to do what they want with it. If its my money I don't plan on sharing. I don't believe that I should have to give up any more money than the man that makes less than me. If you pay 10% than I pay 10%  doesn't matter what are are annual income is. If you take 30% from me and only 10% from you then that ain't fair.

So, as a policy maker...  ;D   Let's say you have some foreign, heavy-hitter of a company express interest into bringing their business to the USA....

... now this is a company that, regardless of how they are taxed, will bring SERIOUS revenue to the U.S. in the form of jobs and the trickle down effect thereof...

As a policy maker...  ;D   You now have a decision to make...  Either, you can look at prospective "company X" and say, "please come to America to do business, where everyone is taxed the same... 30%."     .... at which point, "company X" says "F#CK you.  We'll set up shop in Mexico then."

... in other words... tax breaks are sometimes a necessity to bring in big business that, otherwise, would do their business elsewhere.

The unfortunate truth is that most HUGE American corporations have 80% of their stuff off shore in order to not pay tax here in the US.

I could be wrong, but i think what noah is saying is it is sometimes necessary to give the big companies tax breaks for the betterment of the country.  I also think what your sayin is everyone should be taxed the same?  Unless im mistaken yall arent even in the same book..  but i could be wrong.

Why give a tax break for the corporations, when the CEO salary has increased by 400% in the past 15 years, and their yearly bonuses are in the milions? I say tax them accordingly and don't allow them any off shore breaks. That way the tax money will help this country instead of other countries and corupt politicians.

So what about the little guy? The guy that has busted his a$$ his whole life, and has worked and worked. It is finally paying off for him since he is now successful and owns a smaller gas business. He is part owner in some rigs offshore, and makes a VERY nice income. Since he makes such good money should he be taxed more? He has busted his ass and worked holidays and birthdays, but now the government thinks that he should have to pay more taxes since he is successful? Nope it is bull**** and it is happening in this country. The government is punishing these people that are busting their butts and have worked to get the money they have. This is all bull****, and makes me so mad because it hits home!!! Punish the successful companies, they make so much money their not gonna miss it if its gone!!! Ha

Title: Re: Happy May Day
Post by: Explorer on May 04, 2012, 03:39:56 pm
The small guy that worked hard and is now successful should pay his fair share, no more no less. But the corporations that are making billions and billions of dollars also need to pay their fair share and keep the tax money in this country.

Title: Re: Happy May Day
Post by: wine6978 on May 04, 2012, 03:52:54 pm
Exactly!!! He SHOULD pay no more or less. So then we should look at every successful company in this country and see who owns it, where they came from, and how they got to where they are. But instead people see that they make a few million dollars a year and say that it is not fair that they pay the same taxes as the school teacher! When it actually is extremely fair because they busted their a$$es to get what they have. But this wonderful (please see my sarcasm) government we have is trying to tax these successful people. Why?

Explorer I guess you believe in the inheritance tax. That way you get hit so hard that it puts the property and money back in the economic system . That's working out real great for the government. Family ranches and farm lands are being busted up all over the US because they get taxed so hard on inheritance they cant pay the taxes so they will sale so they will come out a head.

Title: Re: Happy May Day
Post by: Noah on May 04, 2012, 06:03:18 pm
Man... these are HUGE concepts, many of which we the people are not completely privy to the details of.   Big money on a national/international level has the ability to "make it's own rules"... just the way it is.  Unfortunately, we must trust that our government makes the right decisions in this regard, based on the long term benefit for our country... unfortunately, with that much money on the line, there will always be private individuals(federal government) that attempt to steer the ACTUAL government for short term, personal gain... to the demise of our national economy.

The GLARING weakness I see in our current economic state is the LACK OF EQUITY on the streets....  Equity, wealth more specifically, has the transforming effect to keep an economy moving forward(obviously right? rolleyes ;D)...

So where did our working equity go?   Overseas.

What I keep going back to is the idea of a "wealth based economy"... call it "Buy American" or whatever.... but I see no reason to allow goods made overseas to be imported for sale in the US without substantial taxation (chicken tax) to offset the desire to send jobs out of the country.

I heard a man describe it like this(referring to America's addiction to foreign oil)...  "THE BIGGEST TRANSFER OF WEALTH IN THE HISTORY OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD."

Every dollar that leaves our shores, is a dollar that could have gone into an American worker's pocket and that WEALTH would be "kept in circulation"....

I have a lot more to say about this, but I need a brain break  ;D   RL, feel free to take over from here  ;) ;D

Gotta agree with Noah on this one.  I could care less if the company i work for gets a tax break as long as I am employed.  As long as i am emlpoyed i can pay my bills and feed my family.  now if i own the corporation and the Govt expects me to pay higher taxes because I made good of my buisness and wealth, why the hell if i was a smart buisness owner would i keep my company in this country if it was cheaper to move it accross the border???  I dont get mad when i see people driving a nicer truck than mine, or living in a nicer house with better things.  I knew going into my proffession i wasnt going to get rich, and to be upset over it and do nothing to better yourself to have nicer things is ignorance which is ruining our country.  If you need proof ill take some pics the next time im in the hood, of the welfare people who are proud to have a 60 inch tv and no couch and have never worked a day in their lives with 9 kids running around that we are paying for.

my youngest kid graduated from school over 12 years ago and still one of the largest portions of taxes my wife and I pay are school taxes...bought a second had truck yesterday and I paid taxes on the blue book vallue and not on what I actually paid for the truck...this truck has been sold 3 times and taxes have been paid 3 times...the government has been the one making the money on this deal...

I do believe major corporations need tax breaks to keep them here...also need to tax them heavily anytime they want to take their business overseas just to save on labor costs...now if they want to expand their business to create bigger profits and still keep the jobs here then it would be ok...but these companies want to take their business overseas and then sell the products back to us...I call this selling out your country...

fairly new texas law...if you pay 5000 dollars on a truck but according to the book it is worth 10000 dollars then you pay taxes on the 10000 dollars...if the truck is damaged considerably then a mechanic needs to check it and he has  some sort of input as to what the truck is worth...but that is what I was told...

noah, If you don't have something  in the past making you unelectable you need to enter politics. You have a way with words like Reagan did. You cant just waste it on ethd america needs articulate people like you to lead the way............explorer, I've met your kind. Denver co. is full of you spawns of yuppy professors. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Book knowledge can help someone gain wisdom if they first have common sense. but book knowledge mixed with ignorant liberal makes you a jack ass. if you have a simple concept of morality you never will be outdone by supposed intellectualism. the concept of freedom is so simple that one must be brainwashed to not understand its power and rightness. If you are trying to convert conservatives to your side on this. You need mind altering drugs and yuppy professors to hypnotize them daily for years.  use your biggest lies and distortions you can come up with, feel superior and brag to your friends about how smart you are. People who have taken time to savor the tatse of freedom that was given them by god not yuppy communist professers or their political spawns will laugh at you. Not just a chuckle but the deep sometimes silent laughter born of absolute derision for a fools fool. I've savored the taste of freedom, I know its taste. You are sugaring  the stuff your trying to feed us pretty heavy with a sense of fair play to make it more palatable..... But even with all that sugar; to some one who knows what freedom taste like. It still taste like communist @#% and we wont eat it! I'm laughing that laugh now.
