My catch dog has had a few encounters with these critters get a few buddy's pin him against a hog pannel and hold his mouth shut and just do work on it if you cut off the tips of the quells it will relief pressure if you leave then in for a day or so it will make him think twice before he bites another

if you can get em out by your self with out the dog fussing a whole lot they will come out if not take to the vet it will cost you but you wont get bit by the dog either!

I had a rough dog catch one one time and he had them plum back in his throat. The vet told me he needed to look carefully in the back of his throat because he had a dog swallow a quill and the quill worked its way all the way up through his artery on the way out. The main thing you want to make sure of if you pull them yourself is that you get the whole quill out cause if not they will blister up real bad.

This is him at the vet it took the vet something like 3 or 4 hours to pull them all out!!

Had this happen one time out in D'hanis TX. Buddies dog tried to catch one. Pulled em out for a couple hours. Had em all in his mouth and a full beard of em.
