Title: Just moved, built kennels, not bad for rush job
Post by: KevinN on May 27, 2012, 01:58:26 pm
Cleared out about a 40 ft by 20 ft section of underbrush, briars, etc. in the woods, nice and shady.

Look nice.  All of my kennels have to have a roof also.  My dogs must have some monkey in them from way back...they would climb out too.

Kennels look good and you put in alot of work and effort.

some suggestions or things can consider about- the brush close proximity to my kennels left alot of copperheads snakes . dirt floors left opportunity for my dogs to dig out, can put rubber matts with pins through to keep them pinned down wire flooring makes it very difficult to clean after a few years and unsanitary unless bring in new dirt after complete scape out several inches of the old. some people put hot wire around the tops of the kennels to keep the climbing down, but without electricity or cloudy days on the solar panel electric fence, or tree limp fall and knocks it out.

I had to go back and put smaller holed wire over the top of panels on the kennel divider walls to cut down on dogs sticking noses/ears and paws through each other kennels and causing problems when they get excited and start fence fighting

Looks good.  I have a BMC that will crawl through my cattle panels so I had to put her on a cable.
