He was sick about it, searched for days, then figured the dog was lost for good. The following week he got a call from Oakwood, Tx that his dog had wondered up to a house. 32 miles as the crow flies, and over 1 week.
Hopefully something similar will be the case with your dogs. Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: WestTexasCurs on April 28, 2009, 08:38:20 pm Tye,are either branded,or anything like that?I will keep my ears open.Sorry to hear that amigo.
Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: txboardog on April 29, 2009, 06:06:51 pm Niether of the dogs are branded but both have very distinctive scars on them that I can identify and also have many pics of both dogs. As I am typing it is raining so hopfully I can find some fresh tracks somewhere soon.

Cantexduck had the same thing happen a few weeks back....dog was supposedly found almost 30 miles from where he got out. I can't stress the importance of having a collar with a phone number on dogs at all times....even when kenneled or on a chain. You never know what might happen. Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: chancebrown on April 30, 2009, 09:10:29 pm tye have you found em???
Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: hunter_131 on May 01, 2009, 10:19:28 am man that stinks. we have lost our dogs but we find them later that day. our cur gets on the trail of a hog and just keeps going and we lose him. he gets tired and stops and thats when we find him. just keep looking. i would go horse back you can get more places easier and cover ground quick and hear at the same time. good luck hope you find them.
Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: txboardog on May 01, 2009, 05:38:12 pm No luck yet . both dogs have cut collars on them with big cow ear tags that have my name and number on them . what I cant understand is that I have hunted these dogs all over the state of Texas and Oklahoma and bear hunted them in New Mexico for the past four years and then lose them here in my danged yard Im kinda thinking someone has picked them up and disregarded my name tags I have put reward posters out for them and hopfully someone will be inclined to call . I would pay plenty to just get them back.

Title: Re: North and West Texas hog hunters Post by: txboardog on May 01, 2009, 10:00:32 pm Pistol has some scars behind his left shoulder and one on his chest he is a more hound looking blackmouth and is a thinner made dog his tail curls almost in a circle at the end I have some pics Ill try to post tommorow . Hoss is the other dog and he is a blocky made dog he will have a big strange looking scar on the front of his right leg and will look like no other scar that you have ever seen if you see him you will know him just by the scar on his leg it is only about two or three inches above his foot . He also has scars on left and right shoulders. hope this helps I will try to get pics up tommorw my computer is super slow and I have a hard time downloading them.

I want to thank everybody that helped look for them and kept their eyes peeled. Both dogs look good and both have very sore feet but everything is good.
