Title: dog won't eat, hardly drinks. lathargic/slow moving Post by: smeb on May 03, 2009, 10:38:30 am 8 and a half year old house APBT. Came out of nowwhere Friday morning. doesn't want to eat, hasn't drank much and is just lathargic/slow moving?? anyone have ideas?

The penicilin would probably have taken care of it but we just didn't know.

IM TAKING HIM TO THE VET TOMORROW BUT WAS WONDERING SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS. I JUST LOST A DOG A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND HE WAS DOING THE SAME THING.IT HAPPENED IN ABOUT 3 DAYS. You'll know if it's brucellosis because their testicles will swell up. If it's just the symptoms mentioned above, it could be a number of things. My old Blue dog had those symptoms and had to be put down. He evidently picked up some type of poison in the field and his organs were shutting down. My Tweety dog had them and it ended up being erlichia from a tick.
I'd get him to the vet, especially if you already lost one. |
