Title: my make believe pack Post by: chestonmcdowell on July 21, 2012, 10:01:29 pm i dont have any hog dogs nor can i buy any right now. but ive been thinking about what kind of pack i would have. i hunt alot of fields, clear cuts, small thickets, and hardwood flats. and alot of the time i see the hogs in the fields. i need a dog that is fast, high prey drive. alot of bottom, large in size, and can shut down a runner. a rcd. also a dog that is semi open, gritty, and hot nosed, and some what small in size. i know some of yall would say a bmc or catahoula and cull hard ill i find something i like. but in my eyes a stag and a mtn cur fit me i would think well. the way i would hunt would be to hav the mtn curs find a hot track havthem opn on it then release the stags. or see the hog in a field release the stags then mtn curs to open up and help some i guess. 2 to 3 stag and 2 mtn curs. as a tracking system i chose a radio one for their reliablity. rolleyes
