Title: Mule Footed Hogs
Post by: matt_aggie04 on May 06, 2009, 11:04:57 am
My red and white listed mule footed sow is about to domino any day now so I thought I would put something up here to see if anyone would be interested in having one.  She was bred by my mule footed boar so I feel pretty confident the piglets will be mule footed as well.  I will raise up till they are eating solid food good then you can have em.  $25 each, will post some pics when they hit the ground.

Dibs on a boar with mule feet.  As much as I hate having Delta around the house, maybe having a boar hog will allow her to serve a purpose since I can't BBQ her.

If you can talk the sow into it, make it a red/white listed 4 mule feet and blue eyes. ;)

SWEET! Wonder how big they'll be at the end of July, when we come to the Woodland's.......guess about 10 or 11 weeks old, probably too big to haul back here.

Although, Wilbur is 12 to 14 weeks and it would be doable at his size, about 30 pounds. Hmmmmmmm....let's see if Jo chimes in.

Bring a trailer Cody, we'll load you down.  Tires, wheels, pigs you name it.  8)

Chris, I will have a talk with Roxy this afternoon and giver her your order haha.

I think I am going to try and seperate her and the boar hog that is in there so she can be alone when she has them, maybe put a little hay in there so she can make a nest.  Never had baby pigs before, kinda looking forward to it.

Hah!

My all-time favorite western! I can probably recite it word for word! lol.

Mule footed hogs are pretty cool I have to admit. The only place Ive ever seen them or their tracks were around Dayton, TX in the Trinity river bottom. Thats been over 10 years now.
It throwed me for a loop looking at their tracks in the mud until we finally caught one!

Put me down for one. I have a friend that wants it for a pet.

Alan I will do it....I thought you might recognize where that quote came from.

They leave some funny looking tracks for sure.

Matt - just pick us out one if you have any left.  Will you be willing to hold it til the end of July??  We wont be down in your neck of the woods til then.  I hope we have some time that we can all get together and have some supper and tell some lies at least!!  Let me know if this will be doable for you.
Wilbur could definately use a friend his size!!  Him and my yearling stud colt "Cash" are a mismatched pair to say the least!!

Ok Slim - I chimed in!!!  But you knew the answer 4 days ago in an email!!!! rolleyes

Mrs Stark,

If Matt is unable to hold one for you, Mandi and I can take care of it until y'all come down at the end of July.

Tell Ben to drive his truck down and stay a while, I have plenty of work that needs doing around the place to keep him out of trouble ;)

Mr. Coughran -

Thanks so much!!  Yours and Mandi's offer is quite generous and we all will be lookiing forward to meeting up with you again in July.  I will tell Ben about your offer but want to make sure that you guys know what you'll be getting into having an energetic & hungry 17 year old young man around!!  Better tell Mandi to grow a HUGE garden!!  You also might want to buy a milk cow, feed the chickens a little extra, and slaughter a beef and pork beforehand!!   :o

Look forward to seeing you guys again!!  Thanks so much for holding one of Matt's pigs for us!!

We have plenty of meat to feed him, 4 freezers at the house. We put a nice angus steer in the freezer this past fall in addition to 2 red deer, 2 axis, 2 fallow, several whitetail, and if he wants to eat pork, he will just have to go with us and catch some.

No milk cow, and don't give Mandi any ideas or we will end up with one.

Still getting about 2 dozen eggs a day from the layers, and a HUGE garden.

Two ponds in the back, and another down the road.  Caught 25 catfish last Friday night, and another 7 last night.

Trust me, you don't get my size without plenty of food around :o

Sounds like ya'll are well prepared then!!  If he can't get a job up here in Lubbock, I will be willing to bet that he will stick around for an extended visit with ya'll at the end of July/first part of August.

Thanks again!!

You bet, sprinkle some sow in heat on her and strap on a tracker, then teach her to make a big loop and see what chases her back. ;D

lmao...wouldn't that just be the cat's meow.  then if you could just teach her to jump in the back of a trailer and hope the others follow suit.  you could sell your dogs. :D
