Title: Old Saddles-Let's See Em' Post by: BA-IV on July 30, 2012, 11:39:33 pm Lets see some of yalls old saddles, whether restored or not.
Ive been having this saddle for a really long time, belonged to my grandpa and broke quite a few horses off of it. Once I got in the seat, it was hard for em to throw me because the saddle fit me so well. I called Slade Saddle Shop today out of Luling, TX. I learned a good bit of history on it, turns out it was built in the 1920's and is a Tom Padgitt Form Fitter saddle. It's fits me to a T. Been looking for a saddle like it for awhile and wondered why I could never find one, it's an antique. Finally talked to a knowledgeable saddle maker. It was good to put a piece of history to this saddle. I'm wanting it restored to pass on down to my son, but I may restore it and continue using it like my grand pa would have wanted to begin with.
