Love seein all the yella dogs posted on here but it has got me to thinkin.. Dont see too many bobtailed dogs.  Alot not all but alot of the yella dogs here in Fl are bobtailed in some way, whether its 3/4, half, nubby or broke tailed and it got me to wondering why you dont see more from Tx.  Im sure it has somethin to do with the original breeding to make the dogs, but lots of guys here will dock a tail if it aint born that way.

Do yall prefer your dogs one way or the other?  I kinda remember this topic comin up in a thread a while back so if its redundant i apologize.

X2  gotta love them natural bob-tailed dogs.  Seem to see more of the darker bmc's too, from a darker yella to reds

I refer a short or bob tails, be it natural or i dock them. Them tails seem to knock everything around so i just lop them off

I'm in Florida and most of the curs we hunt with are bob tail like you said. The litter of pups Jim fox dog just had are almost all natural bob tail. I like em bob tail, less noise in the box. I hate when the tail bangs against the box.

i hat to say it but i like a good ole purdy long staight tail i dont know i just like em lol

But I have been known to have strange tastes.  Hehe.  :P

I bet a trip to the east and south and a good look at the pudy bob-tailed FL Curs would straighten out them crossed up taste buds ;D

If they're born with a tail there's a reason for it.

They're like a platypus, they don't look cool without the tail  ;D

Yup, absolutely, and that reason is somebody had a litter of mt cur pups in the yellow woodpile at some point.

Ain't never been any "mountains" in Florida ;)

I think some of it has to do with the partin blood from South Florida. That is a common thing with them and even though it is hard to find the true stuff bottom and top alot of Florida Curs have it.

 hey myles, the b2 bomber can fly w/o a tail wing and vet stabe, so can a ch-47, ch-46 and other tandem rotor helos. if those can fly, then why can't a dog manuver without a tail?

Couldn't answer that right back so I went into the backyard for more experimentation.   

Grabbed the first chicken that walked past me and cut his tail off....... ;)

He is currently walking around the roosting tree trying to fly up with his compodres...but starts backflipping like a rolling pigeon until he hits the ground like the atom bomb.  :o

It's really not funny..I had to personally take the gun out of his beak twice already.  :'(
Nope.......for the sanity of the rest of the flock ....I gotta let em keep their tails.
