The catch dog deal is just gonna be a problem.  Cause if it's the right caliber of dog it was stop so might have to catch cow also.   And the water situation just hope dog has enough since to not cross but most dogs on a track are still gong to cross.   So actually just to bad situations.  Jmo!

I had one catch a cow that my buddy's dogs bayed up...We were unloading dogs and I let the bulldog out so he could empty out. He heard the dogs barking and he dashed for the bay and he caught the cow and it took a while to get him off...long story short...I could never break him off of cows after that...not to mention he lost his canines on that deal...

I used elec. to break mine , I walked them in on a long lead and as soon as they started to go I lit there a$$ up , now I can go right threw a whole herd , I tell them no and they listen and come , if Im riding a horse and I know its calfing time I will run a shock collar because a calf might jump up right in front of you  so Im prepared for that , you need to hit them while there still in thought about it , once they hit the trip factor its to late  jmo , I had my big bulldog hung on a bull in the middle of a pond when I first got him , I took my 40 cal. and shot several rounds just in front of them , he had a shock collar on but never felt it so I call this the trip factor , you need to get them before they hit this point ,  but the close gun fire made him let go and we done some training at a later date

I tried five or six times after that episode using full power on the collar but he couldn't be trusted going through cattle after that...before he caught that cow he used to not pay them any mind and he was broke off cows but when one is bayed tight I believe any bull dog will catch in the heat of the moment...

Here is what Ive done. I keep my cd and yella dogs seperate, cds in the front yard. Open the gate to let the cows in while the bulldogs are on chains, dump half bag of cubes in the dogs area and if they show any interest in cows I give them a shock until they get in their box, they poke their head out they get another treatment. Few days of this and they will be broke.

I like gamey pups...gamey pups like deer, cows, and donkey's etc...but I like to break then young...especially off of deer...I do this before they get to liking them too much because deer are harder to break off of...

ha ha totaly cow broke was in jest . by himself running loose he is as broke as any dog  lol but when another dog bays that switch flips and he knows he is supposed to catch . he was raised around cows and was broke enough to the point i'd get mad as hell for him letting the cows drain his water bucket . but what i am saying is them bulldogs are nuts and will fool you if you let them . this picture is on the farm in waxahachie where he was raised right in the middle of a cow pasture and the cows had free range of the yard anytime they decided the grass was good .

noyice the open gate and pushed down fence at hid water bucket , never an incident where he would even think about hitting a cow , but let a dog bay one up and it will be a caught cow  lol
