EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Went out with Ferrel , HogBit , Colby & Jason .. Got off to a rough start , caught a blow out on the way out .. By the time we got there , the sun gods was shining bright and the hounds where ready ! We split up into two groups and headed in .. HogBit , Colby & I set off for the east end of some big property & the rest went to the west .. We put Striker & Jake down and rode slow , Jake struck to the north of us and Striker was there in no time ..

The race was on and Striker took the lead in no time .. They headed south through some rice ponds and the race was on .. After a 3 mile race the hog slipped them in a pond and headed to a bean field .. For those who never hunted in a rice fields much , it's hell on a dog to keep a straight and honest track in this stuff .. Not making excuses , but it's crazy ..

We picked them up and I told the guys about what I learned with Mr.Joey G & Cody L. A few nights before in some rice ponds .. At this time the clouds covered the sky and a mist was coming down .. We sent Striker in on a track as Jake worked the levee .. Striker was working hard but just couldn't line it out .. I was watching the top the rice and saw some moving , but it didn't look like it was enough to be anything .. We decided to move on .. As we did I seen some ears pop up and shag butt !!!

It ran out on a levee right in front the dogs and the race was on again , but it would be in our favor this time .. It didn't take Striker & Jake long to shut it down , at 100yd they showed bayed .. We sent in Sista "on her first" .. She got to the bay as HogBit was vesting up Jackie for a back up .. The bay broke and Jackie was sent in but it only went 50yds before Sista made the catch and Jackie supervised ..

Lil Landon was pumped up as we ran to the by , only asking us to slow down every 10 yds .. Lol he's hooked !! We get to the bay and HogBit makes the knife as Colby & I get Jake & Striker to head out ..

We headed back to the group and after another long chase , I called it a day and headed in .. We'll find out tonight if they got on any more ..

Looks exactly like my son on the way home from a hunt.  Great Pic!  Little guys just dont stay awake after getting at at 4 or 5 am.

A Cody L from Hathaway came run across the bayou from me a couple Saturday's back. My buddies cousin or uncles farm. Think they caught one. Hit me up when you head west, might have to swing by and visit a minute. Been goin w Big Bobby, but I must be bad luck, keep getting outrun.
