Title: Where the red fern grows Post by: PLP on August 20, 2012, 02:32:15 pm I haven't seen that movie in years and saw it in the red box at the store. I rented it and got my 2 sons ( 11 & 12 ) to sit and watch it with me last night. They were rolling their eyes and pouting at first but as soon as they figured out what the movie was about they got interested. At the end of the movie they both turned and looked at me with glassy eyes and said " thanks daddy that was a great movie"!! Tonight we will watch part two and wed night is Ol Yeller.

The part 2 of where the red fern grows is not that good and the remake of said movie is not that good either...

So for someone who has not seen any of them , would it be best to watch the originals or the remakes ? no doubt...the original where the red fern grows...part 1... and old yeller, savage I thought was real good as a kid because I was a dog nut back then...but it is an ok movie...and like halfbreed said...yellers son was yellow with a somewhat long coat and then he turned into a slick coated bluetick when savage sam came out...
