Title: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: TexasHogDogs on September 17, 2012, 11:14:42 pm How bout it who hunts these kinds of crosses ? How yall like them whats the ups and downs of these crosses in your experinces?
Title: Re: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: halfbreed on September 18, 2012, 10:10:07 am well tex they about like any other hound cross . they just bring a little more nose power [ in most cases ] than say the walker crosses . that last batch up pups i had a year ago were 1/2 bluetick 1/4 cat 1/4 plott . from what i heard from down south they did allright in the dust . may have been a little too much nose for the piney woods lol
Title: Re: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: cward on September 18, 2012, 10:14:11 am The ones I hunted behind were good dogs. But there biggest fault I seen was had more bottom than most any dog run two damn days if needed to. But not enough brain to stop a hog. High game drive but the over all dog just amother dog to get a man by.

I think boar collector started crossing blueticks. I know he bred that rebel dog over a bluetick gyp. Havnt seen him on here in awhile guess hes to busy catching hogs or got kicked off. Title: Re: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: Bama36502 on September 18, 2012, 03:31:09 pm I have a few pics of some we hunt
(http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z333/bama36502/0012.jpg) My dog Cat. Med range i really like this dog. Shes got a high prey drive and bottom not so tight bayin' but just enough grit. Shes one of four littermates with everyone of them having a lil diff style and range. (http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z333/bama36502/12.jpg) Black in the middle and Ugly on the right. Black Med-long not real gritty loose baying but will put teeth on one when the bulldog gets there. Real good nose on this dog also.. Now Ugly on the other hand is more short-med until in fresh sign and will def put teeth on one.. And then theres Jessie (no pic of her) is med-long loose baying with a good nose.. All these dogs can hang with one and produce some swine and they fit the way we hunt.. Title: Re: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: TexasHogDogs on September 18, 2012, 07:31:24 pm Nice dogs for sure. They look pretty cool....Ive hunted behind one in the past that was dead silent but went way too far for my dogs. He was bluetick with greyhound a pit...I think.

Title: Re: Blue Tic Crosses Post by: cujo72 on September 20, 2012, 09:51:06 am I own and have raised 2- 1/2 blue tick 1/4 walker 1/4 cat pups they are 1 1/2 years old and are striking and baying hogs for me. They are both. Completely silent on trail one yips on a break both catch with other dogs or CD. One has the loudest Bawl on bay u have ever heard and the other is chop mouth on the bay. Really impressed with how they are progressing
