Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: YELLOWBLACKMASK on September 28, 2012, 11:44:14 pm Never figured it out myself.
Love eating deer but as of date. Never went plum loco and spent thousands for couple weekends a year in a drunken stubor trying to aquire some horns you can't eat. Guess the city folk have all the answers. Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: mod93dirt on September 28, 2012, 11:51:33 pm Man I know the feeling. We got hunts lined up for sat and sun, cuz deer season in Ok starts on Monday. We got a lot of land to hunt in the off season, but unfortunately a lot of that land is leased out to deer hunters that don't want us in there during the season. We hunt for free, and the deer hunters pay so we get the short end of it. Until I got into hog hunting 2 yrs ago, I was ate up with deer hunting. I would count down the days til it started. Now I count down the days until it is over!! I'll still hunt some deer, but it's a lot more fun hunting behind some dogs than it is sitting in a tree hoping a deer walks out in front of you.

Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: flcurdog on September 29, 2012, 11:12:48 am my self im to impatient to sit around and wait X2 I can't sit in a stand for very long either, but I can't wait for general gun then it will be time to strap the tracking collars on the deer dogs. Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: BDizz on September 29, 2012, 11:21:35 am Look at this way there just feedin the pigs up for you. Givin them a little more time to produce to make more. And after deer season they'll still be around them feeders til they run out of corn makin it that much easier to catch em.
Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: Lance on September 29, 2012, 11:55:01 am I like deer season just long enough to fill my freezer and then I'm ready for it to be over ! I really lucked out this year though. I picked up a place on the Trinity River that is 10,000 acres and they don't allow deer hunting. I'll be able to keep my dogs legged up all winter !

Can't handle the boredom if just sitting and sitting and sitting. ADD says no freaking way. Kill most of my deer after a good rain. Just walk around with a hornet and neck the first that jumps out of a thicket. Be back home skinning before mamma can get grease hot. Dont need to spend anymore time on figuring out my problems ..cause I usually figure out I got more problems than the ones I was a figuring on. Lol. Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: firemedic on September 29, 2012, 03:42:30 pm I enjoy deer hunting now and then,....but I don't get into it like some folks do. I enjoy eating venison and usually kill 4 or so does for the freezer. Here in Bama we can't hunt hogs with dogs during daylight hours while it's deer or turkey season. So that means no hog hunting for me,....I don't care to hunt hogs at night, just not my thing. Thankfully deer season winds up in south GA where we do most of our hunting mid Jan......and then it's hell on the swine until mid March.....and I can't wait.

Title: Re: dam its here,,,, Post by: bob on October 01, 2012, 11:04:08 am I have several in the frezzer from last year , I luv to hunt anything , I like trophy hunting whitetail , if its big enought to go on the wall Ill harvest it , if I hog hunted any more than I do now there wouldnt be any hogs to hunt in my spots ,at one time the hogs were thick , we got hogs almost every time but in 5 years and 400 hogs they are getting hard to find , my dogs covered 30 miles on saterday and came home empty handed , deer season gives them time to scatter back out and gives me time to teach my boy how to hunt other game ,
