Post by: SCHitemHard on October 14, 2012, 05:38:39 pm ive owned some plotts that would bay their own shadow. we hunted everything from deer to hogs with our dogs. even some trouble foxes and yotes when they would get in the hen house.
i like black and tans for their cold nose. but plott dogs are my thing. lost my best one recently and cant find any of her blood anymore. bob plott inspected her himself and said she was a fine specimen of the breed. Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: 7Mhunter on October 14, 2012, 05:40:35 pm we had a few for hogs but didnt keep them very long

Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: Sneaky Creek Kennel on October 15, 2012, 11:42:19 pm Those trees you callin slick could be squirrels or den trees. Don't get down on her.
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: 7Mhunter on October 16, 2012, 12:05:41 am Ervery tree she has treed hasnt been hollow or no eyes amd do you coon hunt if so where u located
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: SCHitemHard on October 16, 2012, 05:16:58 pm x2 it could be a den. i would work her more and put a coon in a cage and get a long long long rope to where the dog cant see you and let her tree then. she will get used to being treed and someone coming up on her. my last black and tan had a habit of runnin off once i got there to go find another. i liked that he did that sometimes but i would enjoy to watch him tree for a sec. rolleyes
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: 7Mhunter on October 16, 2012, 05:25:05 pm she is solid as a rock when it comes to treeing she wont leave at all sometimes you have to carry her out of the woods
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: SCHitemHard on October 16, 2012, 05:26:56 pm but you just said she slick trees. does she do both? could go back to the fact that she is excited. she gets off the tree when she hears you coming. ???

Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: Bar R Ranch on October 16, 2012, 10:24:08 pm I'm in N Texas there all registered UKC two of them are out of GrNite Bubba Shot the Jukebox and the other male is out of Cherry Creek Walnut Stinger he is a Gr CH he' won several state champions on the bench. The dog I posted earlier made Gr CH in 8 shows. He never lost a show before he made Gr CH. The only time he has ever been beaten was by that Stinger dog. I believe Stinger is the best looking dog I have ever seen conformation wise. Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: SCHitemHard on October 16, 2012, 10:25:35 pm ill post up some of my past dogs. great hounds all of them and cant wait to begin another bandit pack
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: 7Mhunter on October 16, 2012, 10:28:08 pm I personally like rat attaxk and lipper because rat attack has heart and lipper has the hunt but i also like timber rattler which they sold him for 45,000 dollars and we r pretty good friends with the guy that owned him first
Title: Re: Coon hunt?? Post by: ole shep on October 16, 2012, 11:01:13 pm You dang coon hunters could have one treeing on a tee post and swear it was hollow or the coon walked down the top wire and escaped. ;D I think they are starting to breed some dogs to look and sound good worry about fur later.
