Can you buy the bordetella treatment from a vet supply store or is this something that is supposed to only be administered by a vet like rabies? Why do you say next year? Is there a certain time of year to give it or something? Title: Re: kennel cough Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on October 26, 2012, 10:11:34 pm If the dog is sick, don't administer a Bordatella vaccine, until he/she is completely recovered. There's the intranasal vaccine that you shoot up their nose. Tractor Supply carries them. Good to give once a year. If the dog is showing light clinical symptoms, you can give Cephalexin/Keflex twice a day for 10 days. Either 250mg or 500mg depending on the weight of the dog. That SHOULD take care of it.
