If memory serves me correctly, this cross has been made before hasn't it? If so how many liters have been done and how are yall felling about the previous ones?
What has been their strengths as far as you see it.

Cute pups, congrats and good luck!

i had a gyp outa this cross and for some reason, she was highly aggressive towards females only. she nearly killed a fm pup and it wasnt feeding time, she just got a wild hair up her butt and attacked the pup. as far as hunt, i didnt hang on to mine because of her aggressiveness, but when i did hunt her, if we found anything, she was very gritty, but very very hot nosed, wouldnt take a track unless it was extremely fresh and half a$$ hunt and bottom.

Who did you get one from Charles? I
Haven't had the aggression problem you are talking about out of 5 litters. I also have had different turnouts on the nose and bottom for sure. I wouldn't breed them anymore if they did as you described as I hunt with mostly dogs from this cross

Sorry to hear that yours did not turn out.  I do give a guarantee now on my pups and if you would like to try another I will give you a male or female of your choice to try again  even though you didn't get the pup from me.  I really like the pups that I have raised and hunt and I have quite a bit of confidence that that won't happen very often.  Give me a call if you like. 937-676-4618

Awe heck if a dog don't get grisly every now and then it ain't got much spunk, kinda like a good woman ;)

I've got a real nice ol bar ditch yeller who Is chill as a cucumber but If I get to having lots of problems with a dog and knock some fleas off em, she will remember it for hours until she has the opportunity to jump them and "voice her displeasure with their recent behavior" you can believe or not but thats the gods honest truth and I don't mind it.  Attacking another dog for seemingly no good reason shouldn't be put up with, but you gotta tow a fine line between recognizing a dog being a chracter and a "dog aggressive" dog.

Registered yeller dogs are not my cup of tea, but in this instance I didn't mean to stir up trouble, I was just sincerely asking a few questions. Because any time I notice someone is doing the same breeding time after time I take notice and want to know what they're seeing that impressing them. I try to stay open minded and let dogs performance dictate my opinions of them and any actions I take with newfound education. Thanks everyone.

if the lucy's rio concho gyp is out of powell's lucy and by rio concho,
that is where the dog agression is coming from.

i have a gyp from that cross that is very rough and very catchy. i use her to catch cattle, and she is bad enough to pull one down. she has underlying dog agression issues, but it is completley managable on my yard.  she is a very high drive, gamey type dog. i really wouldn't expect her to not be the type of dog that would get in a mix up from time to time. now don't get me wrong, she won't go around jumping dogs for no reasons, but i can see where maybe on a different yard, under a different hand, and raised different, she could have possibly been a loose cannon. she is all bussiness on the ground and has never offered to fight on the job.

i beleive those traits come with the territory *to an extent* when it comes to dealing with high drive, gamey, hunting and using dogs.

Owl black mouth, yes lucy's is out of concho n powells lucy.
I used concho to breed into a fm n them pups were a lil on the rough n aggressive side. From what i was told about concho, he was lil bark n a lot of bite. I dont remember who told me that, so if im wrong, please correct me. I dont like putting out false info but can only state what was told to me.
I had a dog outa bensons clyde and he was a lil on the aggressive side too. He wouldnt go lookn for a fight, but wouldnt back down either, even aftr a lil thump on the head.

99% of the time dog aggression issues are really just handler issues, start when they are pups and show them it will not be tolerated, and never leave them loose and unattended when they aren't being used.

i think your percentile is a bit on the high side. some dogs are just naturaly aggressive. before dispatching, iv tried electro theropy and switch to butt theropy. i would venture to say aggression is around 50% handler.

It is America and you can think what ya want but for a fact you ain't askin'em right if 50% is handler, bulldogs included.

I agree Old Man! Most of the time aggression starts when they are a puppy and I will not tolerate any aggression. If you do not stop it then you are asking for trouble. I own the gyp that Charles is referring to and I have not seen her start a fight with my other gyps, but she will defend her self if needed. Am I a better handler? I do not know. But she is an extremely smart dog and has found hogs for me. ;D
