Title: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: jagdtank on January 03, 2013, 07:01:11 am Who has the best proven line of curs? I want to get a good one. Im mostley worried about what's in its genetics.and how consistent the line produces more than the individual dogs ability . Also give me your vote on who you think is the most knowledgeable on bmc's I want to talk to them.i'm tired of hunting trash and I've made up my mind to get some dogs that got that little extra that you can see even as pups. I got a real nice pup from donald breckenridge and had two more that got killed. I can really tell the difference in them and the ones I been hunting. I want some good dogs like that of my own. If it takes a few years to raise some dogs like I want im going to get em.I want something I put together myself kinda. Selfish? Maybe. However that's what I want but I want to start with the best proven lines I can get. Thanks in advance

Title: Re: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: justincorbell on January 03, 2013, 11:35:18 am you will more than likely get a different answer for every poster on this forum. Curr lines range from one end of the spectrum to the other. My advise is hunt with different people and make the decision after seeing the different lines of dogs in the woods. Decide before hand what you are looking for before going into the woods it will make your decision on purchasing the right line of dogs that much eaiser on you. Good luck and happy hunting

NO MATTER WHAT< if the pup is in the kennel, chain, etc...dont let em bark at N E THING!!!! Even at 3 in the morning, go whip em unless there is a hog in the yard, and honeslty-who wants to do that? :-\ >:(Title: Re: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: KevinN on January 03, 2013, 03:51:55 pm dose any one have a line that will olny bark. when. pig is stoped and bayed up x2,,,,,I'm told you gotta train pups to ONLY bark at a hog on sight. Title: Re: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: t.wilbanks on January 03, 2013, 04:02:12 pm I don't claim to have hunted with a huge number of different curs or lines, but I'd say Atleast 80% of the ones I've seen barked somewhat on track... Most would yip behind one... but I don't claim to have hunted with good dogs either!! ;D

You can do all the whipping at 3 am you want, I don't much think it'll change a thing, but I'm just an Internet hog dogger. Most of the completely silent Cur lines ain't completely silent  Title: Re: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: KevinN on January 03, 2013, 04:12:42 pm Sorry boys, let me be more specific. The curs I've hunted behind would not open up when they hit a track. They may yip (locate) then shut up till face to face. If they were on the hogs butt (could see him) same goes, they would yip. I've just never hunted behind one that opened as soon as they hit a hot track.
I may have misunderstood the question. Title: Re: Looking for some solid cur lines Post by: YELLOWBLACKMASK on January 03, 2013, 04:18:26 pm Haha
Ain't nothing wrong with a trashy, mouthy cur. Those are typically the ones that get out from under your feet and go somewhere. Plus its handy when your thousand dollar tracking system takes a crap. I like silent ones .......but they are few and far between plus hell to follow without technology if they are long range. The true dead silent ones usually hunt as far as you spit.
