Title: Boar Hog Tumor!!
Post by: setxhogdogs on January 04, 2013, 01:53:33 am
I've got a 175 pound boar hog in a pen and just noticed a large lump on his front shoulder near his foreleg! He runs around fine..no limping! Wondering if I should catch him and lance it or try to draw out whatever in it with a syringe ...what do y'all think? ??

Is it a tumor or a sist? A tumor wont drain. I got a sow with a hard spot on her left side by her back leg. I lanced it n nothing. I cut more into it n found solid tissue. I let it heal up n it aint bothern her

Reminds me of the time we caught a good size sow....cut her open...and she has little tumors like growths all in her insides. Needless to say, we didn't eat that one. Never seen a nything like it.

If it's an abcess you can try and lance/drain it but if it's a potential cancerous growth or tumor I'd cull him.
