Title: Re: Making cut collars Post by: chestonmcdowell on January 06, 2013, 09:49:59 pm i make them out of 2 nylon 4 inch towing straps and then two dayglo collars riveted on. and if you hunted them alot you will have to get a lighter and run it agcross the strap . i came across the thought of dipping the cut collars in hot wax so when it dried the wax would cause the tusk to kind of slide off ( the tusk cant find something to grab ahold of so it cant poke through) i have alot of free time so ive done plenty of experiments lol. also fire hose works good. i was selling them but the shipping part was difficult.

Title: Re: Making cut collars Post by: mark on January 07, 2013, 07:29:03 am I'm with half breed , i use trailer tie down straps and attach buckles and nylon straps and eyes aswell as lopes for my tracking collars . I have a leather shop complete with sewing machines i make some to sell aswell as repair and rebuild vets .

stuff "everything mentioned" fire hose works best I think it has rubber backing and pretty stout when you Put 2 pieces together put rubber backing against each other With 2 nylon orange collars riveted on. Cost about 12$ a piece to make Unless. I just wondered I was thinking of trying it. I have access to a bunch of it. there so cheap on line though I dont know why i even make my own.
