Title: Country Value high energy dog food
Post by: Reuben on January 07, 2013, 08:15:11 pm
The feed store I used for all my supplies including dog food is no more...checked other store for Sportsmix and it is about 35 dollars a 50 pound bag now so I went to TSC and bought "diamond hi energy" for 28 bucks for a 50 pound bag...while in Edna I stopped at the local feed store and he sells "Country value high energy" dog food for 25 bucks for a 50 pound bag...

the owner of the feed store uses it and so do quite a few folks in the area...he says the dogs look healthy and the poop is minimal and country value is made by Diamond...so I shot from the hip and bought 10 bags...

does anyone on here use it and how are the dogs doing on it???

Reuben, I switched a couple of years ago from Diamond to TSC Retriever High Energy in the blue bag for 21.00 a bag. Dogs look great, coats are slick and shiny, stools are firm and minimal and there isn't a price increase every time I go buy feed.

          27 %  protein
          15 %  fat

I always used Sportsmix in the black bag 24/20 until it went up a few dollars. I switched to the Retriever from TSC in the blue bag I believe 27/15 and the dogs did horrible. My pens were a mess every day and it did not put any weight on them. I worm all my dogs once a month and there on heartworm preventative. I increased there food and still did not like it. I hunt my dogs 2-3 times a week and it would not keep any weight on them. I switched to Pride 24/20 seems to do better. I do like sportsmix tho!
