I've been using one the last 2 months. Really isn't a bad system. No where near as fancy as a garmin but gets the job done. And is a cheaper buy. I get just as much range out of it as I do a garmin 220 or a 320. You dnt get the maps and it doesn't show all the maps and stuff. Its simple shows the direction of your dogs how far they are. Still alerts you when there treed or on point. You can set way points and mark starting points. If I didn't already have some in dc40 collars I would use the sports dog. I've thought about selling all of them and goen with the sport dog. I have had the unit and one collar that I have for sale. I think everyone is scared to try something else. A garmin is a trend and everyone has to be cool.

BIG CHRIS if you had to do it again would you still buy the sport dog over the garmin I like the how simple the sport dog operates tracking the dog without all that fancy stuff but just wondering never had one I am still on the F&L just been scared to make that jump always been told if it ain't broke don't fix it

Yes I would. You get the same tracing ability with less cost out of the pocket. My swag dog drops off 2  miles some times and I get him back. Just like a garmin some times you have to get a little higher to pick good signal when your dogs ranges out further in thick brush and you down in a hole and he is over a mile on high ground. It allways picks them back up with no problems. Like I meant to say. If I didn't already have so much money invested in garmin collars ii would go with the sportdog. Just my honest opinion. And you can track 12 dogs instead of 10 with the garmin

Question... will sportdog track garmin collars? if not, keep in mind that when hunting with a buddy you cant see what his dogs are doing. If you have to split up it would be more dificult to locate him.

Thanks for posting been trying to get info on this system. What I like is its e- collar upgrade unlike the Garmin alpha you have to buy all shock collars VS spoertdog where u can buy a collar almost half the price of alpha collar. So you can run just GPS collar and have some with e-collars to. That there sales the deal for me. Thank y'all for replies. I was curious as to the range of the sportdog

Your welcome chris and paula. Mines for sale only because I have so much money tied up in garmin already. You make a valuable point on the e collars.
