Title: shots Post by: crackae11 on January 29, 2013, 08:10:47 am what does everyone use for yearly shots or do u use vet
Title: Re: shots Post by: halfbreed on January 29, 2013, 08:56:44 am most times i don't worry with boosters unless i plan on breeding a gyp . but if you want depending on where you are the 8-way shot from the co-op . and if you can get them a rabies . i give the 3 year rabies about every other year . oklahoma and louisiana you can still buy them . but when you need rabies in texas it has to come from a vet , might as well let the vet give both .
Title: Re: shots Post by: rdjustham on January 29, 2013, 10:00:58 am Rabies in Fl has to come from the vet to be legal. Since i gotta take them in fot that i pay the extra 20 to let them hit them with everything else.

Title: Re: shots Post by: rdjustham on January 29, 2013, 09:53:33 pm I get the 3 year rabies and just have the vet hit them with whatever else they need to be legal in my county. Usually costs me like 45 bucks a dog.
Title: Re: shots Post by: toyotatodd on January 30, 2013, 02:01:49 pm I've just been doin the rabies over at the vet and then I give all my dogs the 7n1 or 8n1 at the same time of the year. They wont let me get the 3yr rabies unless the dog has had 3-one year rabies vaccines without being late. Then I hit them with wormer and ivomec once a month. Been thinking bout doing the 500cc valbazen with 10-25cc ivomectin for a while now.
Title: Re: shots Post by: toyotatodd on January 30, 2013, 02:05:59 pm Also, I know the feed stores up here in N. Brevard have a mobile vet bus come once a month or so. They offer package deals on different shots and seem to be fair priced. My feed store usually has the flyer on the counter. Still haven't found a vet up here I care for too much. How are the vets down south?
Title: Re: shots Post by: halfbreed on January 30, 2013, 02:52:06 pm toyota i quit mixing my ivomect in the valbazen , it wasn't getting the hard to get tapes out . then i found out it takes a three day valbazen treatment to successfully remove tapes in the dogs . and with the ivomect mixed in i couldn't do it . i still use it just not mixed together .
Title: Re: shots Post by: KevinN on January 30, 2013, 03:02:23 pm The mobile vet that goes to the Russell Feed Stores and Tractor Supply (in North Texas) gives free rabies shots if owner is educator or police/fire, etc. Sweet deal.
