Title: Newbies 260# Boar (South Texas)
Post by: Mike C. on February 21, 2013, 02:52:14 pm
I finally got to make my 1st hunt of the year and it turned out to be a paid hunt (even better).  Wind was blowing 20mph and we weren't seeing much fresh sign. I dropped Rex, Charlie, and Whiskey at a water hole and they hit the ground running, 365 yards later they open up all together.  We could barely hear them cus they had gone down wind of us, so we drive through the water lot and head to them.  Drove up to 75 yards and we listened to the bay for a little while, I've missed that sound for awhile now!  Cut the 2 cd's loose and went in.  The dogs had him caught in a fork of a granjeno tree and when I legged him I couldn't do anything with him.  The hunter came in and stuck him and it was over.  Took him back to camp and caped him for a shoulder mount for the hunter, and took a few pics.
