Title: Finally. Post by: Shotgun wg on March 02, 2013, 10:13:24 pm Have had a rough winter. Had few places to run after deer season and fewer pigs on these places. Got invited to hunt with some folks about 20 miles from house and boy am I happy. We ended up with 4. The ice was broken with a lil 20 pounder. We had already dropped in one spot and the trail was to cold and the dogs couldn't line it out. The second spot a little farther down we dropped again and they was just milling around and picked up the lil pig. Got it taken care of in short order. Once we got back to the road we ran into a guy that said he saw some pigs cross the road a wAys back. Dewayne went that way with his 2 dogs while we picked the others up. By time we get to him he said the dogs were bayed. We dropped my 3. We took off down the road on foot trying to get closer. While running in a hog jumped the road 2 of mine get after it. We continue to the first bay. My 2 took this boar on a lil circle and straight back in front of us catching him. We killed it got the dogs off and started to the first bay again. After we made it a lil ways I cut Kane loose again. Him and lady head to that bay where Dewayne 2 cats and Levi's cat are catching the devil with this one. Once Kane and lady got to them Kane caught and lady joined in along with the other 3. This one was a 270 Barr hog with 3" cutters. The first was 198lb with 2" and 2.5" teeth boar. Ended up catching one more 75 to 100lb sow a few minutes later. Heck of a hunt and lots of fun. I was very pleased with the way my dogs performed today. I have caught more than that in a day. Have been with others when we got 2 good hogs in a day. First time I ever caught 2 good hogs with teeth that my dogs were in on. Hopping the red bones keep getting better.
